Ohio DVM’s Mission

At Ohio DVM Telemedicine, our mission is to make veterinary care more accessible, less stressful, and easier to fit into your life. We believe pets and their people deserve compassionate, professional care—whether that’s in the exam room or through teleconference.

Our goal is to bridge the gap between urgent needs and in-person visits, providing guidance and treatment options when you can’t get to the clinic right away. By blending high-quality medicine with convenience, we help pets get the care they need while keeping families comfortable at home.

What is Telemedicine?

Veterinary telemedicine is a convenient way to connect with a licensed veterinarian from the comfort of your home. Using a secure video connection, our veterinarians can discuss your pet’s symptoms, review their medical history, and create a care plan—all without the stress of a clinic visit.

Telemedicine works best for mild illnesses, new concerns that don’t require emergency care, short-term medication needs, and general guidance on next steps. It’s not a substitute for in-person wellness exams, urgent care, or emergency services, but it’s a helpful tool to get timely, professional advice when you need it most.

As part of our partnership with The Bridge Pet Urgent Care in Maumee, telemedicine patients have access to convenient follow-up services when needed. This may include basic diagnostic testing, such as fecal testing, urinalysis, and ear cytology, as well as prescription pickup through their urgent care facility. This partnership makes it easier to get your pet the care they need.

*Under Ohio law, telemedicine can be used once per condition without an in-person exam, and prescriptions are limited to a 14-day supply with one 14-day refill after a follow-up telemedicine check-in. Controlled substances cannot be prescribed via telemedicine. For ongoing prescriptions or long-term management of chronic conditions, your pet will need to be seen in person by a veterinarian.

Meet the DVM

Dr. Alli George grew up on a farm in Memphis, Tennessee, where her love of animals began at an early age. A 2020 graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she has special interests in surgery, feline medicine, and Fear Free patient handling.

In addition to telemedicine, Dr. George works as a relief veterinarian, providing both surgical and general medical care in person. She is passionate about telemedicine because it expands access to veterinary care in a convenient, low-stress environment for pets and their families. It also provides the flexibility that allows her to be actively involved in raising her young daughter.

Dr. George and her family moved to Ohio when her husband, an F-16 pilot, was assigned to the 180th Fighter Squadron. During their time in Ohio, they welcomed their first daughter, Sophie. Although the military has since reassigned their family to Mississippi, Ohio captured their hearts, and Dr. George is proud to continue serving Ohio pet owners through telemedicine.

Their family also includes an Australian Shepherd, a rescue Standard Poodle, two rescue cats, and an ex-racehorse that Dr. George is retraining for three-day eventing competitions. She strongly believes that every patient deserves compassionate, individualized care, and considers it both an honor and a joy to play a role in each pet's story.
